Obituary for Victor Eugene Rout

Victor Eugene Rout went to be with his Lord while he was surrounded by his wife Phyllis and by his children Connie (Stewart) and Wayne peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the age of 85 following a brief illness. Victor Rout, beloved husband of Phyllis who was the love of his life for 67 years, loving father of Connie (& Dave) Stewart of Bancroft and Wayne (& Ann) Rout of Bancroft, lovingly remembered by his three very special grandsons, three great grandchildren and their families and by two brothers and two sisters. Victor was born in Oshawa on January 6, 1939, the eldest son of Victor Sr. and Florence Rout and resided in the Oshawa area during his working career. He retired from General Motors in February of 1994 with over 30 years of service. Prior to that, Victor worked for Eastern Electric and for C.N. and C.P. Rail. He loved hockey and was a coach in Oshawa as well as Hockey Chairman for 10 years. He liked to hunt and fish and visit his parents cottage in Hastings where the family would gather for fun.
Victor & Phyllis moved to Bancroft in 2019 and he loved his many new friends he met at the Bible Chapel in Bancroft. He will be sadly missed by all of the wonderful people that he had the pleasure of meeting. Those folks will remember Victor as a generous, kind and funny man. Now he will be re-united with his Heavenly family and may he rest peacefully in the presence of his Lord and Saviour.
