John Edward Ronald Hughes passed away at Hastings Centennial Manor on October 2, 2023 following a difficult few months at the age of 88. Ron Hughes, beloved companion of Bobbie (Roberta) Kennery, dear father of Murray Hughes, Brenda (& Ian) Johnston, Dean (& Cindy) Hughes and Vicki (& Robert) Vandermol, cherished grandfather of Tamara, Nelson, Alex (& Kassandra) and Stephanie, great grandfather of Adrian and dear longtime friend of Bill Gould. Ron was employed in the steel industry as a locomotive engineer for 32 years and had been a long time resident of Cardiff prior to his move to Hastings Centennial Manor because of declining health.
