Obituary for Robert (Rob) Lawrence Lonergan

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Rob Lonergan. Dear husband, loving father and grandfather, brother, loyal friend, custom builder and all around great guy!
Rob fought a valiant battle over the past two and a half years. Staying strong, miracle after miracle, keeping up the fight, head held high, spreading his contagious humour with laughter day after day. Defying the odds to achieve winters on the snowmobile trails and summers fulfilling one of his true passions, riding his Harley Davidson.
Rob, predeceased by his father, Bill and mother, Vera, leaves behind his best friend and loving wife of 45 years, Sharon (Feeney) and his children, Lyndsay (Darrin), Joanne (Ronnie), Gary, Erin (Eric) and grandchildren, Mackenzie, Cody, Tanner, Reid, Joey and Millie. His brother Glenn (Kelly), sister Lynn and many in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends will all miss Rob deeply.
Rob devoted his life to not only building beautiful homes and lakeside cottages in the Bancroft and Haliburton areas but during the process also building relationships with his clients that turned into true friendships. He took pride in his work and a boat ride around Paudash Lake is proof of the legacy and signature he left us all.
The family would like to thank Rob's team of doctors from the early days at Lakeridge Health Oshawa and his oncology team at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, with a special thanks to Michelle, Dr. Jeyabalan and Dr. Pandya, as well as Dr. Brown who all supported Rob, Sharon and family through the challenges he faced. Most recently assisting him in fulfilling his final wishes to be a home with family overlooking beautiful Paudash Lake, his little piece of heaven on earth.
Rest in Peace Robbie - we love you, you will always be in our hearts and will forever be our inspiration and hero.
A Private Family Burial will take place at the McGillivray Cemetery,
