Obituary for Lewis "Skip" Tatem

Lewis A.E. (Skipper) Tatem of Spanish Point, Bermuda, passed away in his home in Bancroft, Ontario on Feb 14th, 2022 surrounded by his loving wife and two children.



Born to parents Albert and Betty Tatem on May 26th 1944 on Tatem’s Hill, Spanish Point, Bermuda, Skipper attended Mount Saint Agnes Academy and went on to pursue a life long passion for sailing leading to a career in the marine industry as well as a long career in civil aviation.

He was a proud member of the Bermuda Search and Rescue Institute as well as a devoted member of the Prince Alfred Masonic Lodge, Bermuda and the Bancroft Masonic Lodge. Often described as a loving teddy bear, he displayed a gentle kindness that permeated all aspects of his life.



Survived by his loving wife Patricia Gail of 54 years, brother John Paul, father to daughter Nicola and husband Robert, son Bradley and his wife Krista. He will be missed by his grandchildren Austin, Tyler, Quinn, Connor and Elli.



No funeral is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a graveside internment will be held.
