Obituary for Lavina Rupnow

Jenny Lavina Rupnow, passed away peacefully at Hastings Centennial Manor on Sunday, December 17th, 2023 at the age of 103. Lavina (Palmateer) Rupnow, beloved wife of the late Angus Rupnow, loving mother of Brian (& Kathleen) of Springwater, Ontario, cherished grandmother of Scott, Lana, Adam, Nathan, Bethany and the late Scott, great grandmother of Hannah, Makayla, Brennen, Jacob and David and dear sister of Teddy Palmateer of Belleville. Lavina was predeceased by her siblings, Percy, Jim, Ruth and Jean. Lavina was born in Ormsby, Ontario and resided most of her life in the L'Amable area. She worked in the Alemite Factory in Belleville during war time and for a time following at the shoe factory in Stirling. She and Angus were very active members of Bancroft Legion, Branch 181 and she was very involved in the life of St. Andrew's United Church and in the U.C.W. there. As if that weren't enough to keep her busy, Lavina was also very involved withe the local Tops group for many years. A truly kind, generous and Christian lady who will also be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She remained in L'Amable for several years following Angus's passing and has been a resident of Hastings Centennial Manor for the last number of years due to declining health. May she now rest peacefully.
