Obituary for Barbara Ann Redmond

Barbara Ann Redmond of Fenelon Falls, Ontario passed away at Ross Memorial Hospital on Thursday, August 19, 2021 after a long illness. Barbara was a valued member of the congregation of Trentside Baptist Church of Fenelon Falls for many years. Barbara was the mother of three, grandmother of 7, and great-grandmother of 3. Barbara is survived by all her children: Denise Stephenson also of Fenelon Falls, Robert Redmond (Juanita) of Fort McMurray, Alberta, and Kimberly Redmond (Carolyn) of Port Elgin, Ontario. She is also survived by all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Nathan (Lexi), Rob. Jr. (Ashley), Amanda, James (Emily), Olivia, Daniel and Emma as well as Nikita, Rikki, and Jacob.

Barbara was one of 14 children in her first family and one of 5 children in her second family. Her brothers Donald and Clayton (Karla) and sisters Hazel, Gladys, Mary, Nina (Doug) mourn her passing as do her sisters Susan, Shirley (Rory) and Judy (Ed) and her brother Doug (Barb). She is pre-deceased by her brothers Wesley, Gordon, and Bert and her sisters Annie, Dot, Betty, and by her beloved mother Hilda.

Barbara raised her family working for many years as a bookkeeper and in her middle-years became a practitioner of many holistic healing practices including Reiki, reflexology, acupuncture, and neuro-linguistic programming. She was an accomplished martial artist. Barb played a mean game of cribbage and hardly ever cheated. She was a lover of animals of all kind, but especially dogs.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or any animal welfare agency would be a lovely way to honour the memory of this beautiful soul now in Jesus’ loving arms.
