Anita Verna (Reid) Watson went peacefully home on August 10, 2022 at Quinte Healthcare North Hastings at the age of 95 years. Anita Watson, beloved wife of the late Milton Watson, loving mother of Yvonne (& Dale) Twa of Pembroke, Glenn (& Lynn) Watson of Bancroft and the late Dale "Sparky" Watson. Born on February 22, 1927 to her parents, Milton & Bertha (Gaebel) Reid, Anita was one of thirteen children, namely: Carl (& Mary), Garnet (& Roberta), Beth (& David) and the late Helen, Kay, Joyce, Rita, Marguerite, Arthur, Floyd, Ray and Bill. Special grandmother to Kathy Saar, Jacqui (& Rob) Scott, Janet Watson, Carolyn (& Ashley) Markland, Heather Watson, Christopher Watson and the late Danny Twa, great grandmother to Kaylee Saar, Dylan (& Rose) Saar, Joshua (& Taylor) Saar, Montgomery (Monty) Markland and Benjamin Twa and great great grandmother to Greyson Saar. Anita's family will be growing with three more babies expected in August, November and December. She would have been so excited to have been able to celebrate their births. Anita loved her home, garden and beautiful lake. She enjoyed sharing these special things with family and friends. Her greatest joy was picking berries and cooking her delicious food to share with anyone who dropped by for a visit. The family reunions held at her home brought her such joy, keeping everyone together and in touch was her greatest reward.
A member of St. Paul's United Church for years, Anita was always baking several loaves of her famous bread and buns for the church bazaars.....she loved work. Always busy with her home and property, Anita would even change the oil in her lawn tractor. She was quite a lady! She taught her family to love, to share and most of all, to respect everyone we met. Her sincere love of people led her to many friendships that have lasted over 95 years!
